What paint transfer actually is
Paint transfer is paint from another object that has been deposited onto your car and is sitting on top of your clear coat. It comes from another vehicle in a car park, a bollard, a concrete pillar, a gatepost, a trolley bay.
The important part: your original paint is still intact underneath it. Nothing has been removed from your car — something has been added to it. That is why it can be taken off without respraying the panel, and why a panel shop quoting you $400 to $800 is quoting for work you do not need.
How to tell transfer from a scratch
Run a fingernail lightly across the mark.
- Smooth? It's almost certainly paint transfer. We can remove it.
- Your nail catches? The damage has gone through the clear coat. That needs a panel shop — we'll tell you so rather than take your money.
If you're not sure, send a photo. We assess it for free and we'd rather turn down a job than turn up to one we can't do.
What it costs
$120 AUD flat, per vehicle, any panel, any colour. That includes the mobile call-out across Perth metro. The price does not change when we arrive, and if it turns out not to be paint transfer, there's no charge.
How long it takes
Under 30 minutes for a typical panel. We're fully mobile — home, work, or the car park you're standing in right now. No workshop drop-off, no courtesy car, no waiting a week for a booking slot.
Will it damage the paint?
No. We lift the transferred paint off the surface of your clear coat and leave the factory paint underneath untouched. No respray. No filler. No sanding. Nothing that eats clear coat.
