What is a stain on matte car paint?

Bird droppings, sap and hard water can stain matte paint. On a gloss car, the usual fix for all three is a machine polish. That is exactly what you cannot do on matte.

What kind of repair does it need?

Chemical cleaning only, gently, by hand, with a matte-safe cleaner. If the mark has eaten into the coating rather than stained the top, no chemical will fix it. Then the panel needs respraying.

Class of work Chemical cleaning, or a matte refinish if it has etched.

Matte is cleaned, never polished. A mark sitting on top comes off with a chemical. A mark that has eaten into the coating cannot be cut out, because cutting destroys matte. That panel is resprayed.

What to do next

Try early and try gently. Use a detailer who works on matte, and check they will use nothing abrasive. If it does not come out with chemicals, you are looking at a panel respray. So the chemical attempt is worth paying for first.
