Why is my paint protection film lifting?

Film edges carry the most strain, and they are the first thing a pressure washer hits. Once an edge lifts, dirt and water get under it, and the glue will not stick to dirt. Left alone, the lifted area grows.

What kind of repair does it need?

Sealing the edge back down if it is fresh and clean underneath. If dirt has got well in, that section of film is replaced.

Class of work The edge worked back down, or that panel's film replaced.

Caught early, with the surface clean underneath, an installer lays the edge back down. That is a small job. Once dirt or water gets well in, or a crease has stretched the film, that section is replaced.

What to do next

Deal with it this week, not next month. The longer it goes, the more dirt gets under. Lifting edges are often an installation issue, so go back to the installer first. Keep pressure washers away from film edges.
