What is paint transfer on a car?
Also calledPaint Scuffs, Paint Transfer Marks
The mark is a colour your car is not. That is the other object's paint, scraped onto your clear coat and sitting on top of it. None of your paint came off. That is why the colour was never on your car.
What kind of repair does it need?
Removal by a detailer. The deposit is broken down and lifted off the clear coat. No filling, no colour matching and no respray, because your own paint was not broken.
A detailer takes off what is sitting on your paint. No panel work, no new colour, no spray booth.
What to do next
Take it to a detailer, not a panel shop. If a shop quotes a respray for this, get a second opinion. They are pricing damage you do not have. A faint mark may stay where the contact was after the colour is gone. That is light scuffing in your clear coat, and it usually polishes out.
