How to clean contamination off a vinyl wrap
This is what the wrap is for. Anything that landed on the car landed on vinyl. Bird droppings, sap and bugs can eat into paint. On film, they sit on the surface. Your paint has been covered the whole time.
What kind of repair does it need?
Cleaning with products that are safe for vinyl. Most of it comes off with a proper wash. Stuck-on specks and sap need a remover that is rated for wrap.
A chemical dissolves what has stuck to the surface. On gloss paint, a clay bar may lift what is left. Never clay or polish matte paint or a matte wrap. Detailer work, not panel work.
What to do next
Use a detailer who works on wrapped cars, and say it is wrapped when you book. Avoid solvent tar and glue removers, which can damage vinyl and lift edges. Keep pressure washers off the edges. If it is a matte or satin wrap, use nothing abrasive at all.
