Why is my vinyl wrap fading?

Vinyl fades, and it fades unevenly because the roof and bonnet get more sun than the doors. Cheaper calendered films are made for short-term use and give up sooner. This is the film ageing, not your paint. The paint underneath has been shaded the whole time.

What kind of repair does it need?

Replacing the film. A new panel will not match the faded ones. So this is usually a whole-car decision.

Class of work Film replaced across the car.

When all the film has aged, new film on one panel will stand out. So the whole car is redone.

What to do next

Get the removal price and the rewrap price separately. Look at the paint while the film is off, because you may prefer it unwrapped. Check your warranty paperwork, since cover varies by product and climate. If you rewrap, ask for cast film.
